After suffering through every ounce of what the year 2020 had to throw at us, it shouldn't come as a surprise that a nearly 1,000 mile road trip in the middle of nowhere sounds like a great idea. Not that any gearhead in their right mind needs to be coerced into an event like Hot Rod Power Tour. Five days of roaming the American Midwest as part of a pack of automotive enthusiasts is a bucket-list item for many, and for others it's just a great way to get out into the world and see sections of the country that most people would never bother to drive through otherwise. This year Power Tour kicked off at Summit Motorsports Park near Norwalk, Ohio, the land of $1-per-pound ice cream and other goodies. You haven't had track food until you've experienced what Summit Motorsports Park has to offer! From there, the tour travels south to Dayton, Ohio, where we'd suggest a quick stop off to the National Museum of the United States Air Force; then west to Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, Indiana on day 3, World Wide Technology raceway just across the river from St. Louis, Missiouri, and finally to the State Farm Center in Champaign, Illinois to cap off the end of the journey. The open road calls...check out some of the rides that turned out to hit the road!
